Day 1Guwahati → Phuentsholing

07:00 AM – Depart Guwahati for Phuentsholing (170 km, ~4–5 hrs)

Bhutan tourist visa processed at border gate (arrive before 14:00 for same-day permit)

12:00 PM – Arrive Phuentsholing, check-in

02:00 PM – Zangto Pelri Lhakhang — beautiful local temple with murals

03:30 PM – Crocodile Breeding Centre

04:30 PM – Phuentsholing market walk & evening stroll

Overnight: Phuentsholing

Day 2Phuentsholing → Thimphu

08:00 AM – Depart for Thimphu (180 km, ~4–5 hrs via winding mountain road)

Scenic drive through pine forests and Bhutanese villages

12:30 PM – Arrive Thimphu, check-in

02:00 PM – Buddha Dordenma — 169ft golden Buddha statue atop Kuenselphodrang hill

04:00 PM – Tashichho Dzong — national fortress-monastery, seat of government

05:00 PM – Clock Tower Square & Thimphu Market

Overnight: Thimphu

Day 3Thimphu → Punakha via Dochula Pass

02:30 PM – Dochula Pass (3,100m) — 108 memorial chortens, Himalayan panorama on clear days

04:30 PM – Arrive Punakha

Day 4Punakha → Paro

09:00 AM – Punakha Dzong — 17th-century fortress at confluence of two rivers, most photogenic dzong in Bhutan

11:00 AM – Chimi Lhakhang — "Fertility Temple", 45-min hike through mustard fields

01:00 PM – Lunch at Punakha restaurant

02:30 PM – Drive to Paro (130 km, ~3–3.5 hrs)

06:00 PM – Arrive Paro, check-in

Overnight: Paro

Day 5Tiger's Nest Monastery Trek

07:30 AM – Depart hotel for Tiger's Nest trailhead (10 min drive)

08:00 AM – Begin Paro Taktsang hike (4–5 hrs return, 4 km each way, 900m elevation gain)

10:00 AM – Midpoint cafeteria — refreshments & spectacular waterfall view

11:00 AM – Arrive Tiger's Nest Monastery (3,120m) — cliff-hanging monastery where Guru Rinpoche meditated in the 8th century

12:30 PM – Descend to base

01:30 PM – Lunch at Paro restaurant

03:00 PM – Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) — white-washed fortress above the river

04:30 PM – National Museum of Bhutan (Ta Dzong)

Overnight: Paro

Day 6Paro → Guwahati Departure

09:00 AM – Drukgyel Dzong ruins — 17th-century victory fortress with Mt. Jomolhari views

10:30 AM – Kyichu Lhakhang — one of Bhutan's oldest temples (7th century)

Evening — Cross border, drive to Guwahati or overnight at Phuentsholing
